Green dune grass beside a calm inlet under a pale blue sky

Hello, bonjour — I’m Max.

I make software, photograph gardens, and tend to my garden.

Photography

Photography taught me early that almost anything becomes interesting when you pay attention, a lesson I still follow with a camera as I wander the Maritimes.

Gardening

About ten years ago I began turning a lawn into a food forest guided by permaculture and natural farming; it is now home to food, medicine, and many other living things.

The Micro Farmers

The Micro Farmers began as an experiment growing microgreens for my family and became a project helping more people grow food at home.

My father Alan and I founded it in 2015, developing approachable kits and grow guides. Since 2020, Annie and I have continued that work with more gardening kits and practical resources.

Vision: A more resilient future where we all grow food on a small scale.
